Description:

This course will introduce students to a range of research methods and related considerations typical of research in geography and related disciplines. Our intent is to facilitate critical and creative thinking about the process of research. In order to get the most out of this course, it is important that students think beyond their specific thesis research topics and methodological orientations. The immediate application of some of the material covered may not be readily apparent to some, so it is important to keep in mind that the material dealt with in this course will not only better prepare each of you to undertake your graduate research projects, but will prepare you to undertake research activities in various employment settings beyond your graduate studies experience.
