John Anderson
John comes with a background in both
administration and academia. He has
served as the Manager of the North
Shore Tourism Association, the North
Huron
Chamber of Commerce and as the Assistant
Warehouse Manager with the Kingston
Food Bank. John was also the Interim
Office Manager for the Ministry of
Natural Resources Regional Office, District
14. In the fourteen years since following
a path of public service and professional
development he has worked on the
Cabinet of the Ontario Youth Parliament
as the Minister of Health and Welfare
and as the Administrative Assistant
to research scientists at Queen's
University
in the Departments of Computer Science
and the School of Music.
His musical background includes 1st
and 2nd chairs in brass quartets, quintets,
symphonic bands and orchestras, as well
as serving as the librarian and later
manager for the Queen’s Choral
Ensemble from 1991-95. While his background
is in piano and trumpet, he has also
served as the Senior and Assistant organist
at various churches throughout his life. John has sat on the Board of Directors of Two Smiles Music, a recording studio, as their artistic advisor since 1998 helping to promote and produce Canadian talent in folk, musicals and contemporary rock 'n' roll.
Born in Thessalon, Ontario John has
lived in Kingston, Calgary, Toronto
and Manchester, England. Graduating from
Queen's University he received a Bachelors
of Music with Honours specializing in
Education. From the University of Calgary
he received a Master's degree in Musicology.
