Hi.  Welcome to the class Web Site for Archaeology 1000A, Introduction to Archaeology.

Here
are the Course content pages.

Kelly asked if Hollywood's disaster epic of the summer, "Day After Tomorrow," could be true. Here's a story from National Geographic News that answers the question.

Good stuff on Troy and the Trojan War from the Archaeological Institute of America. Check out the links at the bottom of the site too. There is a review of the movie somewhere in there if you DIG around a bit!

Field Trip Info: On May 20 we will have a field trip to an archaeological site currently being excavated near Grassy Lake, Alberta. Here is a link to the Innovation Alberta website where Dr. Shawn Bubel of the Geography/Archaeology Department, the excavation director, talks about her research and the project.

I'll be posting the Power Points that I show in class sometime in the morning of the lecture day.

Please don't become dependent on these; there's no substitute for being in class to take your own notes in your own way.  These are only a outline of some of the things we talk about in class.  Nonetheless, I hope you find them useful.

Here is the preliminary course outline. The Final Official Course Outline will be handed out in class.

Here is Bruce's archaeology website.
